Auction Policies

  1. REGISTRATION: In order to bid, you must register at mennoniteauctions.org. You will create an account and use it to log in to place bids. Payment for items you have won can be processed online through PayPal, or you can pay by local check or cash at the time of pick-up.  Some items may be eligible for mail delivery.  This site will not keep your credit card information.
  2. AUCTION OPEN & CLOSE: Bidding for the MCC Relief Sale online auction will open on May 30, 2021 at 12:00 noon CDT. To spread out internet server traffic, individual items will close at staggered times the evening of June 6, 2021.
  3. SOFT-CLOSE POLICY:  Items will close at their scheduled ending time or three minutes after the last bid, whichever is later. This Soft Close option is another tool to avoid situations in which heavy internet traffic interferes with bids placed immediately before an item closes.
  4. BIDDING: By placing a bid on an item you are agreeing to purchase the item. If you bid on multiple similar items, you may end up with more than one of that item. All items are sold as-is. It is the responsibility of the bidder to determine the condition of the items and bid accordingly. All sales are final.
  5. MAX BIDDING: You may enter your highest bid at anytime, and the auction system will automatically increase your bid on your behalf ONLY if you are outbid by another bidder.  If your max bid has been reached and you are outbid, you will receive an email notification if you would like to return in order to further increase your bid.  See an example of how max bidding works
  6. PAYMENT: If you are the highest bidder at the close of the auction, you will receive an email notifying you of the item(s) won,  with a link to Pay Now via PayPal or to specify that you will be paying on pick-up . Make sure the credit card information is entered correctly. If a card number is entered incorrectly, the item may be re-sold or remain unclaimed. You may also find payment links in My Bids.
  7. PICK UP:  Winning bidders can pick up their items at the following times/place:
    • Tuesday June 8           4:00-8:00        Kalona Mennonite Church
    • Thursday June 10        4:00-8:00        Kalona Mennonite Church
    • Saturday June 12         10:00-1:00      Kalona Mennonite Church
    • Sunday June 13           2:00-5:00        First Mennonite Church, Iowa City

If arrangements are not made for payment, mail delivery, or pick-up the item may be auctioned again or remain unclaimed. Certain items may be available for shipping only upon prior arrangement. Contact auctioneer@mennoniteauctions.org prior to bidding if you require an item to be shipped. Winning bidders requiring shipment are responsible for paying the associated shipping fee. The Iowa Mennonite Relief Sale is not responsible for items damaged during shipping.
